Cat Fight was a game in development as a passion project by a group of talented individuals across Big Fish Games. We spent our free time developing a proof of concept for a cheeky, gritty, fun fighting game featuring a twisted cast of cat characters, all fighting to be top feline in a post apocalyptic-style fantasy world.
Animated by Tyler Thompson and Steve Ibsen
I was the lead character designer. The first original character, Blood Muffin (pictured in the above video), was designed by Beau Binek (creator of the Cat Fight concept), which I used as the benchmark for the rest of the character designs. I developed several different cat characters, working with the Narrative team to create visuals that matched the gritty, cartoony, cheeky style of the original Blood Muffin in a wide array of different personalities that fit into the same game world.
Pictured below are player characters: Felina Fatalle, Akihiko, Samurai Boxcat, The Maw, Isaac the Imagination Cat (and his transformation, Cassandra the Sorceress), Whiskerfist the Grizzled, Murderpuss, and the concept art for the main storyline villain--Sheograth The Undying
In addition to this, I illustrated and formatted each one to be used for animation later on. Below is an example of the pieces I created for "Murderpuss," that were later used by animators Tyler Thompson and Steve Ibsen. I created different angles and facial expressions for the animators to work with and illustrated the character's specialized weapons as well as any other specific pieces requested by the animators.
